First day of Griff ownership

So, the S has gone and I picked up the Griff today.

120 mile drive home was awesome!!

Parked up and turned the lights off...........thats when the trouble began.

The light switch disappeared behind the new walnut dash??
3 hrs and some araldite later all sorted and I am now an expert in Griff dash removal.
Car cleaned and now it's off to show my mate..................
Half a mile down the road and Bang!......Clutch gone and she is off on the back of an AA truck

Gutted, the S never missed a beat in 12 months but hey the drive home was still awesome

Unlucky mate, new owner teething troubles, I'm sure it will pass. Will it be ready for the Growl?

Hi All

Diagnosis, clutch dead and thing that goes from gearbox to clutch (can't remember the name of it!!)

Out of interest, my mechanic has recommended a clutch that is stronger than the original for about £350, what's your opinions on the original clutches in the 400?

That's really unlucky - wonder if the seller knew there was a problem?? Hope you get it sorted soon anyway.

It's all good, at least it will be one less thing to worry about once it's done : ) and besides I know own a TVR Griffith!!! Never thought that would happen back in 1996 when playing gran turismo !!!
Don't know if anyone reading this knows the M4 in Newport but the sound of her coming through the Brynglas tunnels accelerating hard in 3rd is one of the best sounds I've ever heard!!
How cool would it be to tour the countries best tunnels with an army of Griffs

With regards to an upgrade from memory I think some of the 400 boys have put 500 spec clutches in. May be worth doing a search on here for previous threads

Dave, small world we live in. I am long gone up in the Midlands now but home is where the heart is and all my family still there. Hope you get the car sorted, are you hoping to get to the Growl?

Dave, think you've been pretty unlucky there mate.
Know the Brynglas Tunnels very well, being a Caerleon boy it's one of my regular 2nd to 3rd gear foot to the floor favourites !! Good to hear there's another one of TVRs finest in the area, hope to see you on the weekend. I'm heading up there Friday morning if you fancy setting off a day early
