Fuel fountain

Fired the Cerb up to move it out of it's bedroom the other day and fortunately I had the bonnet up at the time.

I was able to see the jet of fuel from the pipe from the fuel cooler to the injector rail before it became a fountain of flame!!!

I have not used the car for the last 9 months so I suspect I need to replace the whole fuel system pipework before I get it MOT'd over the next month.

I would not have spotted this if the bonnet was down so check your pipes regularly..

Happened to me with my old Cobra, test firing after a winter lay up led to a pool of petrol on the garage floor, flexi pipe had become hard or porous. Brown trousers for a couple of minutes

Happened to me and I put it gown to age and the heat that builds up knackering the pipe work.

I had the same leak within a week of buying mine.

had some insulation tape to wrap over it, and get me the last 5 miles home. Replaced the fuel lines and covered then with fireproof / heat resistant covering

I'm in a similar situation. Did you change them yourself and if so, what sort of cost are a complete new set of fuel lines?

Yes, it will teach me. Trouble is it needs a few other things sorting too and the Ultima is back in kit form in my workshop at the moment!!

I haven't organised the replacement pipes yet so no idea of the cost yet.
