One of my headlights has a crack and is constantly misting up, so I'm going to bite the bullet and buy a new one. Any ideas where is the best place to get one - it's a 2000 E39 M5 with Xenon (non angel eye) with clear indicator.

Any help appreciated

eBay is a good starting point. Otherwise try one of the numerous BMW specialist breakers.
Don't know which side you need, but there is one here for £150.00 Buy it Now price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-5-SERIES-E39-HEADLIG...

...and just found one for the other side: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-5-SERIES-E39-HEADLIG...

or this one a bit cheaper at £100 plus postage: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-5-SERIES-E39-PASSENG...

That's exactly the side I need! Only problem is he is 100s of miles away and wont deliver. Is the cost of these new a lot more - I only need the headlight and none of the electronic bits

Don't go there with new ones... A complete unit new from BMW is very expensive although I'm not sure whether they sell a 'shell' without the electrical gubbins. German Swedish & French or Euro Car Parts may do them cheaper. Have a scan through eBay as there is another I have posted a link to at £100 plus £12 postage: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-5-SERIES-E39-PASSENG...

Do you need the entire headlight or just the outer casing?

I only need the casing - I can use all the electrics from exising unit. Only replacing it because it mists up, everything else works fine

You think its the same case for xenon and non xenon?

If it's just the misting pop the cap in the top of the unit out and run around without it for a few days, that'll clear it.

No, it's severse condensation. Have already dried it out a few times and as soon as it rains it gets bad again

Just ordered - thanks Swoxy.

I'm hoping switching over all the Xenon gubbins wont be too difficult.
