Wheels Stolen

Hi all just a general heads up as the local dibble are as useful as a chocolate fireguard.....Anyway the wheels off my 60 plate 5 series touring were stolen as we slept last night...Windows were wide open and we live in a very quiet area.....no damage at all to the car and they even had the cheek to lift bricks out of our block paving to use as axle stands....F*****S !!!

So if anyone comes across a set of 20" multispoke in distinctive graphite grey then please let me or the chocolate fire protection officers know please....These are very rare wheels seldom seen on the 5 series which makes them stand out...Car was aprked at our house in the Chalfont area of Buckinghamshire...Any tip off's most welcome !!!!

Sorry to hear this. Surely it is a good thing they used bricks to prevent any further damage to your car by dropping it on the ground

Yet another BMW a victim of their minute number of locking wheelnut combinations. No help withi this instance but make sure you don't use BMW locking nuts and use maybe 2 x of another make then even if they have 1 key they wuill stil be left with 1 nut they can't undo

Op could you post pictures of the wheels or find similar ones on google to put up.

I would keep watching eBay and run an automatic search in a local-ish distance radius.

Ive had wheels nicked in the same way (but they took beer crayes from the local pub to stand my car on).

Well the local police offered me a response time of possibly upto 3 days with very little likely hood of any phorensics being recovered as it was obviously someone who knew what they were dong....

So have been left with a crime ref number and basically told to get on with it...not expecting them to roll out the armed response team to come and mop up the local regulars but some kind of interest would have been appreciated even if it was a local PCSO....

Will try and find some pics off google and will speak to Sytners to get mod codes...

These are the wheels that were taken which I thought were 20 inch when in fact they are 19 inch

Comiserations, I had a set of wheels nicked off my Focus in Bath a few years back and I know how annoying and inconvenient it is.

If you manage to source a set of wheels and get the car off the deck instead of having it recovered and repaired, make sure there's no other damage to the underside, when my wheels were nicked the little fkers put bricks under the radiator and knocked onto the ground.

I didn't realise it had dumped all its coolant until I got a couple of miles down the road and the temperature rocketed, was lucky not to blow the headgasket.

Better say to my dad look into getting another locking wheel nuts set. BMW wheels are fking expensive. I think the ones on his to buy on their own are about 1.5k for the set and that is without the tyres.

Sorry all wheels are actually 19" M Double-spoke style 351M alloy and not 20" as originally stated in first post.

Don't get BMW locking nuts, they only have a few combinations and there are poeple going round with all of them (only about 7 I think) trying wheels and more often that not getting away with them.

Had some M wheels nicked some time ago; very annoying.

Go down to your dealer and stop them selling any cars; your dealer will contribute to the cost quickly!

BMW fit McGard type locks to their Alpina alloy equipped cars. Interesting.

Thing is, even without a limited number of keys, locking wheelnuts are pretty damn easy to circumvent, I once lost a McGard key and with no experience at all managed to deduce how to remove the nuts in the space of an hour, and had all four off a further 10 minutes after that.

Locking nuts are a deterrent to the casual thief, but if they want them then they'll have them
