I've got a leaking tap in the kitchen of my new gaff. not a big deal - probably just needs a new seal I should think.

However, perhaps I am being a bit detached from reality, local plumbers (and by this I mean a 5 minute walk from the flat) want £60 + VAT to deal with it, which seems a bit toppy for a 5 minute job. I know these guys have to make a living, but this seems a bit much?

Nothing is a 5 minute job wink

By the time he has listened to you explain the problem and how simple the cure is ,

arranged a date and time ,

Prepared and travelled to you in his taxed and insured vehicle ,

Found the stopcock , which probably leaks

done the job and cleared up ,

Finally managed to prise a paltry £60 from you and got back on call........

sounds a bargain if you get a plumber doing it for a living smile
