Nice, all that’s needed now is a rear reflector strip.

It's turning out to be quite a good looking car. I still hate the alloys and steering wheel though!

The more I see it, the more I think how little has changed from the 996, apart from the headlights.

For a new Porsche it already seems very familiar, not sure about the headlight bezels in silver? maybe they would loook better in body colour like previous 911.

It wouldn't take much to convert a facelift 996 to a 997 ringer. Fit the new style alloys, techart headlight covers and latest exhaust trims and you would have to be as sad as most of us on here to tell the difference at a glance.

The alloys look like a lego development from a distance, the panel lines particulary down by the front bonnet are all WRONG!. The whole thing looks like it was 'designed' in a rush and has been compromised, the fog/sidelights don't work with those headlights, there is something Mercy Benz about them..., and on a more personal level i prefer two pipes at the back, four is just brash and too Ferrari for a Porsche. Renderings like this from Zuffenhausen just make me believe even more that the 993 will be a future classic. (if it's not already). Well, just like other forms of popular culture, i can reflect on having lived through a golden age of motoring icons...

Well I can't see any of this - personally I think it looks good.

seems to me like some people say it looks too much like the 996 - and don't like it even though they have/like 996's and some people say it it's trying to be too much like a 993 and failing

neither fish nor fowl?

to me it looks spot on - I like the 996 and the 993 and this looks like a cross between them which is ideal for what I would like to see.

if people really want something radically different they will wait for the 998 - remains to be seen what that will be like - but i'm sure everyone at first will be moaning about how different it is, and how they have ruined the 911 shape..

Porsche AG new marketing slogan "damned if ya do, damned if ya don't"!
