Trailer Test, do I need tuition?

I am looking to drive a tractor and trailer for my company, and have a fair bit of (recent) experience in manoeuvring (inc semi blind reversing) a tractor and trailer around a farm. I also have the opportunity to practise a little in the company car park (v. large) with a navara and trailer. The test alone is £115, and my company is willing to cover up to £200, however they also want me to put in £200 and get a few hours tuition on top. They argue I should pay if I am getting a qualification, but I argue that they can save money and just pay for my test as I am not a complete novice to towing. They dont mind, but I wanted to make sure I am not being overconfident.

Anyone here who has taken the test want to offer their opinion on if I should get the tuition? Is the test tough?

I passed my trailer test (B+E) a few months ago and i only had 2 hours tuition. Like you, i had some experience of maneuver's. For me it was the sharpening up my test standards as i had obviously gained a few habits.

I recommend abit of tuition as it lets you get in the frame of mind and sharpen up those minor points.
