Cars that have little room when driving but feel cosy.

Had a drive in a 2005 A4 1.9 tid Saloon over the last couple of days, only done about 30 miles but i was suprised how squashed in i felt, and how dark and cosy it was.

Very suprised, but the fact i didnt have much room to move was quite nice, and the roof felt quite low down too.

Anyone else experianced this and in what car?

My Leon Cupra R fits the bill, not really cramped inside but the black interior, low seating position and high instrument cluster, and black roof lining and a lack of a sunroof help to create the "bunker" effect.

Older MX-5s fit the bill, the newer ones not so much.

That said, they're not exactly spacious with the roof off either - OK, you get a bit more headroom but that's about it.

Although once you've wedged your (not exactly racing-snake) physique into the seats and strapped yourself in, it's what I'd call "snug".

I had a try of a fellow 7 owner's "Tillet" seats recently - they made my leather jobbies feel like a three-seater sofa.

Not a common one but fiat panda ime pretty tall and my head scrapes the roof if u stretch back and then depending on my driving position i can clip the wheel with my knees a little haha

VX220 with the hard top on, once you're in you can't understand how it is so much hassle to get in/out.

I really like the Corrado cabin for this. It's just a mass of 80's / 90's black plastic and cloth and really isn't that spacious but feels quite cosy and reassuring on a long drive! I also like that there is a little dimmer to basically turn off the instrument display and interior lighting at night so that the entire cabin is almost completely pitch black - nice touch!

I sat in an E60 530i with a anthacrite headlining and it felt cosy, as does a focus ST (both relative to cars with a light headlining). I would guess it is a trick of the light but a nice one.

S2 Exige... i find it really comfy and cosy but others (passengers) often moan of it being claustrophobic... they just don't get it!
