How long/far do you hoon?

Im in zone 6 in Kent, means I have to drive a while before I reach some decents roads.

I had a cracking run from the M23 to Sunday Service over in Goodwood and from Goodwood to Guildford. I often visit Guilford and am considering taking the detour next time I go. Would probably add 90mins to the run but was fun Maybe im just buts its what the car is for, driving.

So do you have nice roads on your doorstep or do you have to travel and if so how far/long is your run?

I have to travel approximately 5 minutes till I'm on brilliant roads - A82 through Glencoe early morning, road up Glen Nevis and back. Only 90 mins from the pass of the cattle to Applecross! 90 mins also sees me on Mull with the roads of the Mull Rally...

Lots on my doorstep south of Guildford, hoons can last from 20 to 120mi dependent. Keep an eye on events and local forums, Paul, we're planning another Crawley to Beachy Head Hoon inclusive of a tunnel or two, last years was pretty epic!

I'm about 5mins away from good roads one of them is my commute so I generally have a hoon every day, although it's normally for a series of corners and that's it!

About 330 miles on my day trip to the Welsh cost and back via the Aberystwyth mountain road.

Used to live near the edge of town - hoon any time from 20 mins up to a pretty much full day.
Now I live city centre - so minimum 2 hours, normally a half day or more. I really preferred living on the edge of town though..

Once a month I might take the 40 mile journey to work via the B-roads.

Otherwise it's the 4 mile section from the motorway to my house which puts a smile on my face every day. Plenty of roundabouts and short sprint stretches.

I'm less than 10 minutes away from some nice country roads, I tend to do between 50-100 miles most of the time. Manage to do 300 on occasions but not very often.

Ohh, let me know about the Crawley to Beachy head run, any ideas on dates yet?

Back on topic, I'm just back from a lovely 60 odd mile Monday evening run from Ashdown Forest to Eastbourne and back just for the fun of it, nice quiet roads on a Monday. No caravans encountered!

100-250 miles usually.

Depends whether I've only got a couple of hours, or whether I'm free for the whole day.

Usually most of my runs are into Wales, and I try to add some new roads onto my routes each time, and have found some really nice, smooth, twisty & quiet ones that way - not sharing them though

Probably 20 miles minimum - it takes around 5 miles to get up to temp (even though I have an oil pre-heater).

Once I month I hold a 100 mile run in and around Essex for Sports/Supercars so that gives a decent run out!

5 minutes to some decent quiet A and B roads, 30mins to the Durham dales and roads to Alston and Hartside pass, 20mins to the B1257 and to the NYmoors.

turn left out of my street, turn right bottom of the hill, straight for 200yrds, then left and enjoy the glorious mountain rd that leads me over to The Brecon Beacons National Park. gods own driving country!

as it happens i have to use the Sennybridge (epynt) Military ranges this weekend for a rally im marshaling on. its nice to blast a few miles as my WRC heroes have done only a few months ago.

Quite often make a 40 mile trip to the Brecon Beacons for a hoon. Although there are some great local roads that are only a 10 minutes away.

Sure, I've just put a note in the generic dark-coloured fruit based smartphone, will drop an email when we get organising. Trying to locate a vague route from last year so I can get POI file and .itn files made up. Within the nex month for sure.

My road (and i mean my road) is the one Top Gear uses a lot when in Yorkshire. The last test was a few years back for the XJR drophead.

I live about 2 minutes from some lovely country lanes..... Don't hoon for long anymore though, 30 mins or so - more use the TVR to go somewhere nice (but a blast is of course on the cards whenever she is rolled out of the garage).

Thats the thing my dad lives west of Guilford just off the Hogs Back, some cracking roads round there.
