Just thought I would let people know I recently had a new stereo install done on my car.
Nice Kenwood head unit with a touch screen dvd/mp3 all singing all dancing...
Kenwood Mp3 Keg
Small kicker Amp and Kicker components in custom door pods built onto the current door pockets (trimmed in nice red alcantara.
I will get some pics up after I get the car back from my dealers....sorting out pod display, speed transducer/sensor thing and leaky rear quarter window.
As you can see the install has been done to keep in line with the car completely.
This is the way the speakers should have been mounted in the first place. These are running off the small amp. mounted in the boot.
I have also kept the original speakers running straight off the head unit.
Oh and the head unit

I just found this thread.. have you had any problems with the keg? I put one (the KHD-CX910) in my chimaera, it works ok up to about 70mph but after that it skips very badly and then stops altogether, saying "Eject" on the (Kenwood) head unit until I slow down again, so seems like a vibration problem. Then the other day the thing got stuck on one track and won't play at all. Hoping I won't have to wipe the drive and start again, it took hours and hours to load all my CDs onto.
Have you experienced this at all? Assuming I get it working again, I'm thinking of cobbling something together involving bubble wrap to try and dampen the vibrations but surely it is supposed to deal with this. It's all very annoying, and I can't take the thing back as I bought it on eBay from some bloke in Miami, as Kenwood don't sell the CX910 over here.
Any helpful comments appreciated.. the unit is mounted flat as recommended, and was fitted professionally by an outfit recommended by Castle TVR
cheers!
