im re doing the garden for my mother in law and have the best part of 2 tons of soil and grass to get rid of. thought i would offer if before i had to get a skip in.

If no PHer takes you up on the offer ring around your local landscape architects or garden designers. If the soil is any good they may even pay for it.

Same position - digging a pond from land i raised up with top soild 5 years ago, so the stuff coming up is lovley...to go in a skip!

2 tons doesn't go very far when you spread it about, or have you tried the immediate neighbours?

Are you allowed to "dump" it - i back onto fields that are council owned and go down to a river. They are used for dog walking only - could i scatter it in their "great escape" styleee?
