Waterproof Compact

I saw this on special offer recently :

and thought it might be ideal for my family holidays, camping, mountain biking etc. I already have a dSLR and a couple of older compact cameras, but this seems like it will be quite rugged and useful for taking to the beach etc.

Anyone got any other suggestions ??

I had a Lumix FT1 for snorkelling this year, bought it cheap off another forum, the pics I got were great, that said it died one day (no water ingress that I can see) so just waiting for a new battery to try.

Up until it died it was good, rugged construction, HD video, small enough to trouser when going out without an SLR.

Bought this one for a holiday last year. Performed well in and out of the water. Very impressed with it for the money. And it's tiny - goes in any pocket.

I would try a proper camera site like DPReview , In all honesty any waterproof camera is going to be comprimised somewhere , it is a bit of a jack of all trades.
