Wheel refurbishing - inside of rim

Just got my wheels back from a local refurbisher. I'm happy with the finish, but there is paint on the inside of the rim where it mates to the hub. My understanding is that this should be machined off to allow a flush mating surface.

Should I take them back and insist this is done? It would be easier/quicker for me to sand off myself - any pitfalls to watch out for? Or should I simply not bother as it won't make a difference?

Just sand it back on the mating surface. A roughish wet & dry will get rid of any paint in no time.

Black chrome. On a different car though...
