CLASSIC " Classic Le Mans
Discussion
I realise that there are a couple of threads about 2012 Classic Le Mans elsewhere but next year is the 50th anniversary of TVRs Le Mans entry in 1962 of 2 TVR Grantura Mk3s. In the traditional need for 12 months planning for Le Mans just a preliminary thought if there is any interest in a "Classic" trip. To put the trip into a slight perspective there are 3 approaches to LM from UK. Calais, Dieppe or the Brittany ports. Its about 250 miles from Calais,160 miles from Dieppe and 98 from Caen to Le Mans. Plenty of time but a need to commit is needed. If you are interested I have had a LOT of experience organising touring trips for old and new TVR,s so come on, what do you think.

Hi Steve
We would probably be interested in a re-run of our trip to the very first Classic le Mans with you.
Sue
That trip included the Circuit des Remparts in Angouleme. I dont mind hanging around in France after Le mans till mid september if you dont. At least with so much notice you,ll have time to get Dave "out of storage".We would probably be interested in a re-run of our trip to the very first Classic le Mans with you.

ps we had to cancel Euro Classic due to old age.
Absolutely underwhelming response. Just a quick update. If you are hoping to book overnight ferries they are quickly filling up, Seafrance has gone breasts up and the better camping sites are nearly full. I,m all booked so if you have any intentions of going get your digits out soon. Remember its the 50th anniversary of Sebring and Le Mans and the 40th anniversary of the "M" series cars this year.
I've book cerberus90 with there 1600M and my 3000M, plus our Steve in his 3000S and a Chim to go.
Sailing overnight Wednesday newhaven to Dieppe.
Camping on Karting North with paddock passes.
Friday evening track time with the club.
Returning home Monday.
Just got to organise the team shirts, if they are wanted!!

Hi, I have booked the track time/tickets/paddock/display for my Taimar, but as yet no ferries/camping. it would be cool to to do this with a bunch of oldies!on such a significant year, I would be interested.
Hi Dryden.I'm taking my 1978 Taimar, going over with my 14 yr old petrolhead daughter! I'm booked on the 16.50 tunnel crossing on Wednesday 4th and staying overnight at the Ibis in Abbeville.
Not booked the return yet but probably a similar time from Calais on the Monday.
Staying at Karting Nord. We have one other Taimar in our group and hope to see a few more Taimars and M's on the drive through France.
Brian
Oh also booked track time on the Friday.

Ive booked up campsite think im taking my 200 tasmin, leave the chim at home !

Superb. I've got a 200 in the stable. Taking the Taimar as it looks older than the 4 years that it actually precedes the Tasmin. The taimar is just a little quicker too.

How many times do you reckon we can lap 'em in 30 minutes.
If we assume a 60mph average, its 3.75 laps.Don't know what sort of speeds its going to be, but our 1600M won't be going much more than 80 tops down the mulsanne.
I'd guess its probably only going to be 2-3 laps.
got the 500
chim for speed! is there a link for the parade lap or is it a turn up try your luck on the day
