Single and dual place wings?
Discussion
nice looking car...
its a kit, so many owners fitted their own wing, the dual plane wing will give more downforce... but the gtr apparently generated lift at the front due the wing being positioned so far back from the rear axle, hence on the canam its mounted forward 100mm ( looks illy that far forward on the gtr) so unless you balance off the car (add front) the extra isnt required anyhow!
also your win looks better... if however you do choose to change let me know as I might be interested in the rear wing for my car

What is the reason some wings have much less rake/angle in the center section of the wing and a much steeper angle towards the ends? I initially thought it would provide more downforce at the corners, but the load is transmitted to the car through the wing supports, which should even out the load from the entire wing anyway.
Thanks, Chris.
Thanks, Chris.

It's to capture the different angles of the air as it meets the leading edge. The center flow is coming down from the roof area hence a higher center section which is usually angled shallower to handle the airflow as opposed to cutting into it abruptly. The flow up and along the sides of the car is usually "flatter" for lack of a better term so the ends of the wing are angled to properly grab that. It is just basically formed so that the differences of the approaching airflows are handled more uniformly. Thanks, Chris.

Looks like an APR GT500 to me....
That makes sense. Wow, interesting I thought the wing was factory. Thanks. I found the wing on my car at the APR site. http://aprperformance.com/index.php?option=com_con...Gassing Station | Ultima | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
