46,000 miles, FJSH, sports spec, no SAT NAV though. £5,950 seems a bargain!

Just phoned insurance. When i gave them the registration etc, she said 2003 Jaguar XJ 3 litre, so i replied it should be the sport spec, as per the advert and also webuyanycar.com
When i said this, she said it wasn't listed as this, and asked if i would like a quote on the same age/engine XJ sport, so i said yes. The sport was cheaper haha.
Nobody best find their way to the seller, shes mine!!

Nice cars and very easy to bond with - drive fantastically. As a gentle warning, I had three of these between 03 and 04 when they came out.
The first had faulty air suspension which they were never able to fix (would just drop onto the stops without warning at random intervals) and was eventually replaced by Jag with another that corroded horribly after 30,000 miles. This was replaced by the third which lasted 80,000 miles but I had to get rid of it as it had water in the lights, the nav/climate had packed up entirely and it had been through three front nearside wheel bearings. It was just over three years old when I got rid of it and worth c.20% of new price.
As an ex-owner, my advice would be to check the car very carefully and ask specifically about the suspension and electrics (I see you have already enquired about corrosion).
I may well have been unlucky and I loved driving it so here's hoping yours is a good one.

I wasn't aware of the air suspension. Im assuming unlike the >2003 A8, which allows you to control the height of the car, the Jag won't? Also, i viewed a 2004 one yesterday with the sat nav, and tbh i would rather pay £200 for a tom tom, as the touch screen was awful. Afterall i can't remember many touch sceen things back on 03/04!
My main worry is if it is still for sale on Saturday, but thanks for the heads up, i will check all buttons/switches and check any history relating to brakes/suspension etc

Im all for haggling, but i don't know if i could! Also, i went on the DVLA car check, to see how much tax cost, and 6 months is just £112! Surely its more than that.
The reason being is, the deale said he would go halves on the cost of it, so really ill be £6000 on the dot to drive her away.
