You know when the autobox changes down in D and it's usually nice and smooth? Well today, every auto gearchange down was accompanied by a Clunk and a judder, as if I'd been manually forcing it into gear too early. Car has done 65,000 miles, 2001.

Anyone had this? Cheers. Kim.

Auto box fluid probably needs changing - I bet it's dark and burnt. You'll need to find a specialist to do this; cost me about £150 I think. Definitely worth doing anyway, despite BMW's recommendation that they're sealed for life.
