The important thing is that there’s no talk of resurrecting old nails like the Ariel Square Four (1931-’59). Good ideas are one thing, carrying them out is another. Remember Al Melling? Now that bloke can talk good horsepower but when it came to reviving Norton and building his own car nothing came of it. Mr Saunders has the track record and knows how to make things and make money at the same time.

So where's this leading?

How does it rate as PH news, and what's it got to do with TVR?

This is very cryptic... you have to break it down to understand it and see its relevance to TVR.. For example:

"The important thing is that there’s no talk of resurrecting old nails like the Ariel Square Four (1931-’59)" This is clearly a reference to the potential return of TVR, and is suggesting that for it to be successful it would be a mistake to start producing the Griffith again...

"Good ideas are one thing, carrying them out is another" Clearly another TVRism, such as "I think I'll stick a new set of plugs in the old girl, only take half an hour" or "I'm going to change the appearance of my dash"

"Remember Al Melling? Now that bloke can talk good horsepower but when it came to reviving Norton and building his own car nothing came of it" Well this one's easy, obviously TVR related, and suggesting that people who build motor bikes shouldn't build cars, or, er, the other way round... Or that Al Melling shouldn't try and build either.. er, maybe... scratchchin

"Mr Saunders has the track record and knows how to make things and make money at the same time" OK, probably a pop at the Blackpool management that was, and the owner that is. The former couldn't make money (well enough anyway) and the latter clearly can't make things.. Well, make things happen anyway..

So there you have it... Simples...

Is the guy in charge of Ariel, who make the Atom. The OP is referring to the article on PH yesterday about Ariel starting to make motorbikes again. They have a history, as the company used to make bikes, namely the rather wonderful Square Four.
