Just had my booking cancelled and they've scrapped the whole day due to "lack of interest".

It's not even August yet! And I would've expected interest to build given that it's a relatively rare Saturday trackday at the re-born Donnington.

Very dissapointed, was looking forward to it massively. Anyone else in the same boat?

To be honest though, communication and correspondence with Donnington has not been impressive. Not very well organised. This had already set a few alarm ringing....

Have you got a link because there's nothing on Donington's website to say that they run their own trackdays?

They used to do their own session days via 'Trakzone' but this disappeared when the circuit closed. AFAIK all days are now run by the various TDOs. Check out the Bookatrack website as they run lots of days at Donny. Last Sunday's event was brilliant - limited numbers, lots of track time (open-pitlane), very few closures which were quickly sorted, free coffee and they even provided sunshine all day. biggrin

Maybe they are thinking that everybody will be at the Goodwood Revival rolleyes,
or I wonder if they have now sold the day to another TDO or a car club?

There was a Trakzone logo (didn't mean anything to me)on the Donny website when I first found out about it but all correspondence has been with Donnington and Trakzone hasn't been mentioned since.

It was showing here http://www.donington-park.co.uk/pages/donington-pa... but it's gone now and it was on trackdays.co.uk which is where I first saw it. It's been pulled from there too.

Donnington staff told me they had a busy weekend on the date in question and couldn't afford to put resorces to something that wasn't selling. Like I said though, seems too early to bottle it.

May have my wires crossed, but I seem to recall one of my racer friends telling me that Donnington were experiencing noise related problems - in fact a quick search brings up this thread: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Does make you wonder if track days are seen as easier to cancel (if they are counted?)... or maybe I give too much credence to conspiracy theories...?

Quiet usage (98dB) track days aren't affected by the noise problems at Donington - it's only race meetings that are being affected.
