Go-karting in London

I'm organising go karting with my mates in London. There are 5 of us and we don't mind sharing the track with other people. It seems most places won't let you book very far in advance unless there's at least 10 of you, so we'll have to wing it on the day.

Anyone been karting in London recently? Got any recommendations or places to avoid?

Been to the one in Stretham. Got a pretty good time. I think these things are much of a muchness though. Supposed to be just going out for a laugh isn't it.

Went here a few months ago, had fun. Indoor on 2 levels and my first time in electric karts, I was quite impressed with the instant acceleration although reliability seemed to be a bit of an issue, a few of the karts seemed to have problems but they had enough spare ones. It felt like a pretty new venue, so they may well have sorted ot the teething troubles by now.
I've seen the future and electric go-karts are definitely the way forward...

Sandown park has a superb outdoor karting track one of the best I've driven on;

just off A3 as you head out of london towards M25 (past kingston)

I've booked in for an endurance GP at Lakeside. They have twin-engined karts which are good for up to 70mph apparently.

2 people per kart (taking turns) and just over an hour of non-stop racing for £54 quid each.
