radiator hose tape?

a while back i asked for suggestions for spares to take doing 2k around Europe in the Tiv. Someone suggested radiator hose tape. What is this? is it available in my local hellfrauds? I assume its like gaffer tape?

Yep, normal self vulcanising duct tape.

The stuff thats quite popular with the US Army in Iraq...

just wondered when it was described as radiator tape if it could withstand higher temps or something.

Put it on in layers, with a bit of a cross laminate type affair.

I ran a mini with the top radiator hose like this for months...

If you have any problem getting it to seal, leave the pressure cap off.
