Just saw a Tornado with what looked like under wing fuel tanks coming into land at Bournemouth airport.
Does this type of jet often operate from Bournemouth or could it be a one off?

Have also seen one or two coming in to Cardiff airport over the last week or so. Pretty odd and have (despite the Red Arrows a few weeks back) never seen military aircraft landing there.

What I do find amazing is the noise they made, despite their size they make the airbuses/757s seem very quiet!

Ooooh, saw this coming in earlier and wondered what it was, my house is under the flight path for landing...

Or it's U/S and diverted in more than likely. The FRA jets tend to come down to the operating bases, been one or two at Conz over the last few weeks.

Could it be for the air show? It's in a few weeks time but a pair of GR4's have been confirmed for the 20th..

I was in Boscombe on Thursday and a Sea Vixen (I think!) was zipping up and down the sea front, it certainly looked like it was running through it's display routine.

one of my bestest mates works for FRA....
He's been there 8 years I think...he says he's bored now... but fk me it sounds like the best job in the world to me...

"Shall we pretend to attack that battleship?"
"yes..."

"shall we drag this sheet of metal trhough the sky so that a trainee fighter pilot can fire live rounds at it?"
"yes"

"I only feel like working a 100 days a year that ok? and still get paid..lots.."
"yes"

"I need to travel the world at someone elses' expense...can you help?"
"yes"

"amd can I have a nice starchy uniform with Ray Bans, to attract all the fittest ladies?"
"Of course"

That'll be the GR4 role demo team pair your referring to, 15sqn aircraft from Lossiemouth and will also have a spare with them aswell.

The demo display is good with the pyrotechnics. Always good to see the GR4 being out through it's paces. The Italian display GR4 is also a great display as they have low fatigue lifed aircraft and no pylons fitted so gets flung about abit! biggrin
