Paint Correction on our Porsche 968

After reading lots of reviews about paint correction / detailing on various forums finally decided to take the plunge and have our newly acquired 17 year old Porsche 968 Sport detailed. Following the very positive reviews decided to give the job to Jay at Gleaming Kleen. Full paint correction was undertaken. Picked the car up yesterday and as you can see from the pictures........ what a stunning job. This guy is a perfectionist and would highly recommend him. I could go on for hours about how good his work is etc but I will let the pictures do the talking!!
Vehicle received the usual wash and de-contamination stages and below is a a few photo's showing the condition of the paintwork after the wash stages.
Below are a few " before & after" shots during the 2 paint correction stages
Once the 2 machine polishing stages were carried out car was given a wash to remove all the dust from the heavy compounding stages and car was but on axle stands to allow me to remove alloys and clean & seal them with Nanolex Alloy Sealant
Paintwork was then refined using Menz 85rd and then given a IPA wipe-down before Nanolex Professional Sealant was applied.
All the glass was suffering from heavy water etching so this was machine polished to remove. Windscreen sealed with Nanolex Urban Glass
Here is the pad after the windscreen - a lot of dirt pulled

What compound did you use on the glass if I may ask?

Thanks for the information. I know nothing about water etching on glass, other than my car, just 2 years old, has had marks on the glasswork noticeable when the glass is wetted. When dry, cannot see them. I have used Autoglym Glass Polish by hand, but it made no difference. Might try that on a pad, and failing that, have a go with the compound you recommend.
I can still see some of that factory paint orange peel effect on the Porsche, even though it has been polished down. They must have quite tough paint. Great work again and nice attention to detail. The wheels look very clean indeed, even shifting the inevitable rust from the inside face around the bolt holes!

As long as the paintwork is washed and maintained correctly then it should never need full paint correction work carried out again. Over a period of time you may pick up some light marring (especially on softer paints) from washing but all that would be needed is a very light machine polish to remove.Ult-Jim said:

Thanks, they were polished with Menzerna 203s and a polishing pad
