Unless you're as deaf as a post and as blind as a bat you'll realise that journalists from some quarters have been getting somewhat of a deserved bashing recently.

Without wishing to wade in too deeply against them I had to laugh at this monumental faut pas I came across this evening, taken from the BBC website

http://www.bbc.co.uk/essex/content/image_galleries...

"Cars of all eras, shapes and colours were displayed alongside each other, like this 1920s Bugatti and luminous green VW Beetle!!

hehehehehehehehehehe

Shock horror! “and a luminous green VW Beetle (double exclamation mark!)"

"As a journalist I can see nothing wrong with the statement or the photo", he states innocently whistle

A lovely Bug (sic) and he seems to be a member of a number of clubs, probably BRDC and other very selective club badges there.

definitly os, just have a look at the front-axle. This is typical for VW untill the mid sixties.

I'm willing to cut him some slack. He probably had 10 minutes to name all those images before going onto the enxct project- maybe a garden show. And although its obvious to us its not a real Bugatti, to someone who isnt into cars, and wont have time to properly research everything, getting the name of what it looks like is a pretty good shot.

Afterall, if he had to label the images from a garden show, horticulturasts would laugh (as we do) if he got the latin names wrong for all those plants..
