q-plate locost with "ford" as make in the v5

I agree its VERY odd when I checked this was the response:
'The vehicle Q355OVL, a Ford (Light Van), is on our database.
To discover its history please choose a check below'
On balance I think this is another example of a less than straight forward registration.
This is not and cannot have been a van. It is a convertible 2 seater.
Therefore either the registration is from another vehicle altogether on a Q plate applied to a locost to give credibility, or there is a mistake in the registration number, always a possibility, or the DVLA had made a mistake but it is a complex mistake if it is indeed a mistake because a commercial vehicle description cannot readily be misapplied.
There are clearly a number of people using and selling kit cars with highly doubtful registration details. Buyer beware!!
The more I see of these the more certain I am that Kit Car buyers` should exercise extreme caution with suspicious registration details.
Remember the old adage it it looks too good to be true it probably is.

I once was the proud owner of a Yamaha Thunderace that was six months old when I bought it.
Didn't notice at the time but when the tax reminder came six months later it was for £15.
It had been registered from new as a 49cc moped.
"Honestly officer, I couldn't have been doing 169mph. It's only a moped."

tis an odd, one especially as its a van reg. the car ive not long purchased has a reg that lists it as another car, i checked it with the dvla prior to buying it and all they told me was that that the reg an ddocs were correct, the chassis number and engine code matched and that all was in order, i checked it all out as it said triumph on the log book, the kit car is triumph based so all should be well once i pull my finger out and fix it up again, longs its taxed and mot'd i cant see a problem?

Assuming it's based on one of the 'separate chassis' Triumphs it's probably OK since the DVLA did allow that on cars which retained the original chassis..they may still do I think. It would have to be a VERY old Ford Van to have a separate chassis, though.... and the chances of that chassis underpinning THIS car are somewhat slim.GinG15 said:
a locost has a homemade chassis...so nothing , even near, in common with a triumoh or whatever chassis... and i doubt that the dvla made a mistake in tat case....the registration has been faked by purpose
