I was sat at my desk at work yesterday and suddenly started to feel a bit dizzy and disoriented, I got up to get some water and vomited.

After driving myself home (very slowly) I got into bed and passed out, at around 5pm.

I've been awake around an hour, but I have a very dull headache and I can't walk straight or stand up properly. It feels really weird, almost like I am blind drunk, but I'm not hehe

So I'm just lying in bed, wondering what the bell is going on? My head feels too big for my shoulders and I can't seem to coordinate my legs to go where I want them to and have to support myself on a wall to walk.

Honestly, am I dying??

Do you still feel dizzy?

Defo worthwhile getting to hospital - they'll be able to suss things out. I expect the dizziness is due to labyrinthitis or similar (stressed at work? low immune system?) and the headache is due to a lack of fluids from going to bed early. But it could be worse so definitely get yourself checked out ASAP.

We're all dying. For some, it'll just be happening sooner than others. wink

Get yourself to a doctor for a check-up. Even if it's nothing serious, it'll put your mind at rest.

Could be as simple as an ear infection. Get it checked out

get it checked asap, could be something minor like an ear infection, or it could be something more. Don't want to worry you but my PA's mum had similar symptoms thought it was an ear infection and waited for it to go away, it didnt. She had a brain tumor

could be something simply like ear infection, benign paroxysmal vertigo etc but could also be more serious so worth getting in and seeing your GP.

Thanks for all the advice chaps and chapettes, went to the docs and he said it is down to dehydration and possibly exhaustion (hardly laugh ) stayed off my feet yesterday, had lots of fluids and generally kicked back and feeling much much better today smile

Did worry me a bit, Mrs H thought I was having an 'embolism'...

Although when questioned she couldn't explain what she meant by that laugh

i see you're recovering now, good news.
i had some sort of labyrinthine disorder a few years back, sudden onset of dizziness and nausea. had to hold onto things to walk, couldn't even stand up. felt sick standing, lying down and sitting. not nice

I had what was probably labyrinthitis 3 years ago, and as you say not nice; at the peak of it the only relief I got was from vomiting, then I could rest/doze for an hour or so, then rinse and repeat. That got old really quickly, but lasted for 5 very long days. I could barely stand up during the dizziness/nausea attacks and bounced off the walls like a pinball getting to the lav.

I still perceive a slight impairment of my sense of balance even now; I tend to weave slightly when walking in a straight line and need to look where I'm going. If I look to the side, I veer off in a curve. Bizarrely, I manage fine on ships(which is handy as that's where I work); the motion seems to counteract or cancel the impairment.

Yep, laby really sucks. Had me incapacitated for two weeks. It seems to be related to my immunity - in my case, if I have far too many late nights it may come back (had a minor revisit last year but have pills handy just in case).
