I got it, finally biggrin

British Racing Green, black leather, Xenons, 46,000 miles, and a phone which i don't have a clue how to use!

Awesome car, at £6k its VFM!

But as in the picture below, i have a telephone installed.

I put my sim in, and can call out/recieve but i have to put the phone to my ear, which is now illegal, but is also very low volume.

How do you set it so it uses the car speakers to output the sound etc??

Made up other than that though!!

Can't remember what i said about the wheels? Its not the voice thing i need to sort, whenever i press the 'phone' button on the dash board, it says 'handset' on the little screen, as if to suggest i have to use the handset. It doesn't over-ride the radio/CD when somebody is calling either, as it says it should in the handbook.

Lovely machine!!

Is it ex Police? The Met use them for Royal Protection work. MacNeillies in Walsall were decommissioning a dozen or so '53' reg XJ6's when I was last there about six weeks ago. I saw a few in non metallic BRG.

The VFM is not to be rivaled at that price.

Don't think its ex plod, its previous owner just had a normal adrress, before Jaguar i guess took it in part ex and thats how Scott James of Lytham took it. Their cars for sale (incl a V8 vantage, Cayenne Tubro S, various 911, CLK, SLK and a 51 plate Ferrari of some sort) are all in great condition. The Cayenne was only up at £32k!

Can you take a picture of the dash screen when you press the phone button?

Normally you can dial through there, you can dial through the handset as well but this is a little pointless, you should be able to do everything through the dash including hear the call through the car's speakers.

Certainly that's how it is on my car, maybe there is a software issue?

Have you not got the Speech training hand book?

Try pressing the button top left on steering wheel if it beeps and say "PHONE ON".
Press button again wait for beep then DIAL followed by the number.
Say slowly and clearly - oh, one, two etc..

Yes needs voice, but was thinking that may be the problem??

The little phone instruction book should tell how to operate it, has he got that?

You shouldn't *need* Jaguar Voice to operate it from the dash, you should be able to just press the phone button next to the screen, dial your number and make the call.

Jaguar Voice should allow you to do it all with one touch of a button and your voice.

It sounds like he isn't getting anything on the dash at all.

All ok now guys. I had the phone out of the holder/cradle whilst i was trying to operate the dash. Put it in the cradle and everything works smile

Just need to acquire a sim card for it as using my contract one is a pain, switching between phone and car.!

If you only want to answer calls, put a pay as you go sim into the car, and then forward your phone to that number when you are driving.
