I'am waiting for a lambda2 sensor which I have been told is on back-order and has been for a number of weeks now. Whilst speaking to my dealer he also mentioned that TVR haven't got any cerbera clutches in stock and my dealer has a number of cars just sitting around waiting for the parts to arrive. Also just read on one of the threads that there is a HT lead shortage as well. The list is probably longer What's going on?? Are TVR cost cutting and reducing their inventories at the expense of the cutomer or is there another reason?

Can't believe TVR make any of these parts so why not go direct to the manufacturer if TVR have run out? HT leads for goodness' sake!

I don't know who manufactures the lambda sensor, if you do I will give it a whirl. All I was trying to highlight with the other examples was that as far as I was concerned a pattern seems to be emerging (or not). But it doesn't strike me as as pratical to source components myself when you would expect the manufacturer to have these simple and commonly requested parts in stock. At the end of the day I wouldn't change the Tiv for anything else and it still runs, although with a splutter below 2000rpm. I'm just keen to get my pride and joy running 100%. I was only wondering if this was a new phenomonon or maybe parts shortages have been an ongoing issue. You do wonder after the last years poor annual report.

I think after encountering some tricky times financially a year or so back a lot of suppliers won't provide parts to TVR without payment up front. TVR therefore keep the bare minimum in stock and the whole supply chain suffers.

Not having looked closely at the connectors on Cerbera HT leads I can't be sure, but if you call RPI (www.v8engines.com) they MIGHT be able to get you a set of custom Magnecor leads made up.

Good luck.

You could also try contacting Tim Lamont at ACT Performance Products - haven't got his number handy, but he often advertises on PH and in TVRCC Sprint.

Or even go straight to the horses mouth:

Their web site is at http:\\www.magnecor.co.uk, and contact details are:

Magnecor Europe
Unit 20A, Station Road, Coleshill, Birmingham, B46 1HT, U.K
Tel: +44 (0)1675 465166 Fax: +44 (0)1675 466329
E-Mail: mailto:info@magnecor.co.uk

They are a very helpful bunch in my experience and do know their cars, I'm sure they'll sort you out a set even if they haven't done them before. I've had a set on my 500 for a couple of years and they are quality kit. I severed one lead in a workshop accident recently and they were only too happy to provide a single lead to replace it. Recommended.

The AJP definitely has funny HT leads - apparently ford end, but different leads - might be made specially for TVR, so hard to source from elsewhere. They also come in a set of different lengths, so you can use the longer ones on the front cylinders.

I thought the only difference in HT leads was the quality of the conductor and the shape of the end (right angle or straight, both of which will fit as long as you have room). I've never heard of "Ford ends" in relation to HT leads.

Me thinks they are feeding you
