Hi,

does anybody know why Stratstone has funny pricing, their cars are priced for odd amounts? I assume that this is something to do with the age of the stock, anybody care to explain?

thanks

My local 'supermarket' (more like a corner-store), which is part of a national chain, advertise odd prices, ie £15,991. They claim to be cheapest in the area, doing daily internet comparison checks with local competitors.

Hence the strange prices.

Perhaps Stratstone do similar.

Mate looked at an S5 at Stratstones the other week and they would only offer a 3 month warranty on it as a used car, which was 2 yrs and 9 months old, so you guessed it, you would use the audi warranty, so they basically got away scott free. Be wary of them, we walked away. No actually ran............

Tried 3 visits on 3 separate days to buy a RRTDV8 on the front at Stratstone at Hull. All the salesperson needed to do was swipe the debit card and fill in his / her paperwork, I was happy with vehicle / price etc. from my research.

'Can you come back later please?' each time.

3 tries was enough, went elsewhere and bought a very similar one for £100 more - best £100 ever spent imo

Looks like the dealer had a lucky escape from you.

How much warranty do you think you should get? Buy an extended gurantee if you want peace of mind.

Shot away.

Stratstone price their cars off autotrader and have to be the lowest price hence the funny numbers and why you'll not get any discount.

I'm a shady dealer like them then as I only give 3 months warranty.

How about if I give you 4 months warranty does mean I'm not shady anymore?

I think you need to buy a new car and go for a Kia, you'll get 7 years warranty then. You can then take the 7 year warranty policy to bed with you and spaff all over it.

Fully agreed with you there. 3 months standard on a used outside on Manurfacturers warranty! Additional cost gets you more, or of course, you can buy a new one and get it in full!!

Motor Dealers gotta stick together!

Used to that, father in law hates my trade too, but I provide well for his daughter!! At the end of the day, if it wasnt for us, no-one on here would be driving what they are!

Strange how I have never had a bad experience with a motor dealer, including when I bought a vRS new in 2006. My last experience was equally pleasant with the dealer being very fair and accommodating, including holding off potential buyers for me as he knew I was traveling over 2 hours to see the car.

Maybe I just come across as not a time waster.

Do you display the same attitude in your work as you do in this thread? Customers are 'prats' and 's' is that how you treat them then because if you do it is time for a new career.

For a student, you've had a lot of decent cars.
