I'm looking to buy a BMW 6 Series 650 or 635D Coupe. Can anyone tell me if 50000 miles is high on a car with a full BMW service record?

some say, that it is high..
some say, that it is not high..

The average private mileage per year for a car has long been considered around 10,000. How old is the car you are looking at? evaluate it's age with the average mileage and see how you go.

For me, mileage is irrelevant to a large extent. I like to purchase cars (whenever I do as I keep for a long time) based on their mechanical condition. You can have a 3 year old low 20,000 miler that drives like a dog compared to a 3 year old 150,000 miler that is in excellent shape.

Cheers, Dennis!

It's just a number, it means nothing. The car doesn't know it's done that mileage. I would spend £10k on a 140k E39 M5 with fsh thats received loads of care, over a 60k example with lacking service history for £8k any day. I've seen a few 57/08 plate E60's recently with 80-100k, they were immaculate in every way.

As a side note, apparently things tend to break on BMW's due to age over anything else.

The badge/marque is broadly irrelevant. As long as the car has been regularly serviced and not been used & abused every day (which you'll never ultimately know), 50k isn't anything to be overly concerned about.
Hell, I bought a Vauxhall at nigh on 50k and it gave me another 150k of decent service before a bloke in a truck decided it needed liberating from this world.

I appreciate the quick responses guy's, I'm getting the message. 50K mileage with FSH should be nothing to worry about.

Thanks to you all.
