Great games that'll work on an old laptop

I fancy playing some decent games on my GF's old laptop (not sure what the spec is) but I'm after some ideas for games that aren't too graphically intensive.

So far I've thought of:

Theme Hospital
Dungeon Keeper 2
One of those transport tycoon jobbies
Minecraft
Dwarf Fortress

I've played all of the above way too much in the past though - anyone think of anything else?

Original GTA and GTA2 and bring back some memories from the 90's....Gouranga!

Think they are both free from Rockstar now

Checkout mame32 (multiple arcade machine emulator) and play anything from Frogger, to Galaxians to Space Invaders. Hours of your life could disappear.

These run on old 486 machines so a low end laptop should not be too much of a challenge.

As said here and on every best games thread I always reply with OpenTTD. Original transport tycoon deluxe made better with bigger trains/stations/limits and shiney 32bpp graphics!

Oh and Outlaws - a fantastic Western first person shooter, although graphically you're going back all the way to the day of Doom and the like. Saying that, Doom is another one I'd consider revisiting. And No One Lives Forever. And the sequel. And Half-life. And the add-on packs.

And get that, it's vastly superior to the original.

Other than that, I've enjoyed UFO:Enemy Unknown, Command and Conquer, Detroit, Grand Prix Legends (Analogue control is vital for this if you want to get around the track) and TIE Fighter, which is way cool.
