Ideas for an older 911
Discussion
I am thinking of getting an older 911 Porsche for my wife to smooth over the 996 TT that I have on the way. It needs to be fairly easy to drive, preferably an easy manual box or tiptronic for her. As it will be a third car, cabriolet or targa could also be nice. I would prefer to spend no more than £20,000. Will probably have ot be kpet outside for a while given a lack of garage space.
Any ideas? What specialists are good to use for sourcing this type of car?
Thanks in advance, Jason.

Iguana will source you a car and lay your drive while he's at it. He'll also service the wife and nick your cakes, but don't worry, he's friendly enough.
In more seriousness, you have asked a very general question and there are a million answers. So I shall give you the Domster one.
For circa 20k, given your needs, I would suggest a nice LHD 993 tiptronic cabriolet. You may need to spend 21-22k but I reckon it's just possible. If Rubystone disagrees I'll go onto mobile.de and show him hundreds under 20k
If you want a really old 911, it will be more difficult to run and drive. But stick to 1984+ and you won't go too far wrong. Maybe a 3.2 Carrera cabriolet would be OK, for about 15k in RHD. One or two k more should see you in a 964 cabriolet RHD.
Use the specification you need to your benefit. Cabriolets and tiptronics used to cost more new, but now the enthusiasts shun them compared to manual coupes - so your missus should get one at a good price.

a myriad of options out there with a massive amount of cars that could indeed suit.
I have indeed sourced a fair few decent porkers for people, (inbetween my romany tarmacing duties obiously
)so perhaps drop me an e-mail if you wish to chinwag about it.
Cakes wise I do like a nibble on a nice fruit cake, won't comment on that ratbag Doms service the wife line tho
