who am I insured with?

bit of help needed, I have changed car & need to get in touch with insurance, thing is I can only find 09/10 schedule.
I called them and they advise I had moved, I know I am insured as I have taxed the old car 3 months ago, but for the life of me I cant find the docs or remember who it is with.

Is there a central data base ( I am sure the police have access to one ) that I can call to find out who I am insured with.

You could always ask your bank/ credit card provider to check their records for likely transactions - or look at the statements if you've kept them.

Check your bank statements, see who you pay/paid to.

Does Askmid tell you the insurance company or just that you are insured?

Askmid, confirms I am insured, but who with????????? will have to call bank in morning feeling a right numpty.

No they can't or will not tell me, I can fill a form in & post it to MIB with a £10 postal order & they will tell me in 10 days!!!!

Bank have advised it will take 10 days to order paper copies of my credit card statment.

This is a nightmare, I can't even go and arrange new insurance as I do not know who to contact for my NCD proof.

What if my car was in the garage and the house burnt down!!! I thought we were in the 21st century were paper copies were not a must.

I would be very grateful if anyone knows how to find out who insures a car, it is my car I just cant find the insurance cover note.........

My insurance company sent me a welcome email, so maybe your's did too?

I also suppose theres no internet banking facility to look up on your credit cards?

Internet history search on your comp, if it goes that far back, would maybe show what sites you were browsing at the time, e.g for phone numbers comparison quotes etc.

Check with Telephone or Internet banking.
If you don't have one set up- then just go into your local branch with ID and go through your payments with them to find out any familiar names you may have insured with

a - remember insuring your car
b - find the paperwork (you NEED the paperwork)
c - see your bank statements online

It's 2011 for fks sake - do you live in a Yurt?
