What car (for the girlfriend)?

She currently has an old KA, that's a bit of a shed and probably won't make it past the next MOT (if it lasts that long).
Budget is ball park about £5k, less would be better but if you can think of anything good for a bit more I'd still like to hear.
She really wants a MINI, and there's a fair few in budget. But, she sat in one and with the seat raised as high as possible and could barely see over the wheel... So that's out.
So, criteria:
Has to be small. As in no bigger than a MINI / Fiesta sort of size.
Has to have minimum of 4 seats. (I've already tried the MX5 suggestion)
£5~ limit
Cheapish to insure, but don't worry too much about that, we'll see what the meerkat says first...
Quicker than her KA
No real age limit, more concerned about mileage. Has to look 'nice' though.
So far, the cars I've suggested:
Fiesta: Too common, doesn't like them.
Aygo/C1/107: Loves them, but really slow.
Swift: Likes them, hard to find a Sport in budget, though. Other models look painfully slow.
Clio: See Fiesta ^^
Ibiza: "" ""
Entire VAG lineup of two smallest size cars (e.g. Arosa + Ibiza): See Fiesta, etc..
There's actually a lot more than that but a similar story with all of them. I'm running out of ideas. So, any suggestions?

I tried this one. I pushed for the 100bhp one, not at all because I'd like a go in it, of course... I think we looked and couldn't find any around that price. Also she's gone off the looks of them now.I've always liked the look of the Lupo GTi.

If she likes the Swift Sport but it's too expensive you could get a 1.5 Swift instead? Not much slower than the Sport and more comfortable to drive.
