I am a Jaguar owner, well technically I'm not as it's a Daimler!

Will add some pictures tomorrow but it's a 1967 Daimler Sovereign (or, perhaps more well known as a Jaguar 420).

The car is a light bluey-silver metallic with a dark blue interior, it's very original, with a beautiful air of aged style about it.

In short I CAN'T WAIT biggrin A total of about 16 hours to go and counting ... biggrin

Absolutely lovely, and it's got to be the best paint/interior colour combo.

But remember, it's a Daimler and not a Jaguar 420!

Please post some pics!

I will indeed post some pics. smile

There isn't a Daimler forum and there really is just a few badges and a bit of trim difference between them, the 420 was the first "badge engineered" Daimler, as the 250 V8 had a Daimler engine....

Or if you meant I should drive it like a judge who bought the Daimler and not like the bank robbers who bought the Jaguar .... wink

It's all very confusing.

Jaguar Daimler
Daimler Chrysler
Daimler Benz
Mercedes Benz.

That old Gottlieb got around a bit.

hehe, actually it's not really any bigger than a modern 5 Series and I'd actually say it was narrower! smile Now had it been a 420G ... I wouldn't have been able to put it on my drive ... LOL!

Polished it today, including all the chrome work - there is toooooooo much of that to do! Then took it to a meet, smile. Was surprised the level of attention it recieved. My "humble" Daimler Sovereign got more attention than the E-types and the XK150s that were there! biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I see it's on a Somerset plate. Do you have any original documents? Maybe it was new from Somerset Motors and I've come across it before.

That's because it's rarer than an E pixie, and a damn site more practical. You've got yourself a beautiful car there. The shut gaps are spot on and it looks dead straight.

The 420 is my favourite model; if I were to buy an older Jag that's what it would be.

I had a signal red 420 manual for years in the early seventies. It had wires and I fitted it with Konis and SP Sport tyres. I saw 140 on the clock coming down from Snaefell on the TT circuit with the kids in the back! yikes

Aye, those were the days!

Put a set of Konis on it; you won't believe the difference in handling. And if you feel like spending a few bob, a manual 'box.
