Need a new rear Anthracite Spider wheel

TVR don't have any.......... how can that be?
Didn't manage to completely avoid some debris on the M5 yesterday and took out the left rear wheel and tyre on my T350. None in stock at TVR, they won't give a delivery date either.

Anybody know the manufacturer?

Any dealers got one in stock? Peninsula are doing their best to find one but no luck yet.

Sorry, can't help with the wheel, but can you tell me whether the shaving foam fixed the puncture or did you need trailoring home?

its not just wheels their missing - their short of exhausts too!! Mine would be ready for delivery if they had some, but I've got (another) two week delay now..!

How was the wheel damaged by the way..?

Only a slow puncture even though the rim folded back so I can see under the bead of the tyre.....

I used some tyre weld then drove slowly for 30 miles or so to the dealer.

Well, it was a beautiful morning so I took the sceninc route from home to work in Exeter, (normally 5 miles), via the mendips, Cheddar gorge etc.

Anyway, I was about to stop at Taunton Dean services when the truck in front either deposited or kicked up something rather solid about the size of a bag of sugar. Didn't want it to go under the car to I went right, (sorry to the white van in the middle lane), what ever it was just caught the edge of the rear tyre and rim. scuffed the wall of the tyre and folded the rim right back. Amazingly the tyre did not deflate.

Another inch to the right and I would have missed it altogether.

Is the wheel completely knackered? you may be able to get it refurbished... Wicked Wheels do a very good job and the cost is £50 + Vat.

Don't think i'd risk it in this case, the rim is folded back far enough for me to see under the bead of the tyre

what next? - Over the past 3 months all I hear is the same story, - no clutches, no cams, no nothing!!

how can they be out of wheels? - virtually every car they make has 18" spiders! - i know most are silver, but for heavens sake, there are a lot of cars out there on anthracite wheels...

there are quite a few owners out there with thier TVR as thier daily driver, being off the road for an indefinate period is quite simply just not good enough.

This does not sound good for the health of TVR or us poor owners....

Shame you can't get it repaired... I think someone was flogging 4 x 18" spiders on pistonheads for £400. Not sure if they were silver or not...

can't have a T350 off the road!

Indeed, this is going to become a serious issue.

My Cerb is going in for its service soon and the exhaust is blowing a bit, if it needs a replacement and I can't get one then I'm a bit screwed as it is my daily driver.

I hate to say it, but if parts really do turn out to be a problem, then it'll have to be bye-bye TVR for me

Looks like I have an interim solution. I'll be running around with three black and one silver wheel until TVR get their act together but that I can live with.

So, if you see a blue T350 with odd wheels that will likely be me.

Hmm, might be able to get it powder coated if the colour can be matched. To be honest I don't know where the wheel is coming from, might be a demonstator!

And another thing.

If anyone can find the black TVR wheel inserts (just stickers apparently), then you'd be doing better than I have over the last 2 months. I've got those crappy gold one's on 18-inch spiders and they look awful! I've rung every dealer in the country AND the factory. No date for the new one's yet.

One of the guys on the TVR stand at the NEC told me to go to an independant vinyl finisher to get them. I mean for s sake.

I contacted the factory personally concerning the replacement wheel. TVR replied to let me know when I would receive the replacement wheel. The wheel arrived as promised.

I have to say thanks, also thanks due to Peninsula for keeping me on the road in the meantime.
