Mini Cooper S (GTT 210)
Discussion
Hi all,
Just picked up a new camera so thought i'd share some pics. Its not as fancy as some of the cars on here, but after a succession of hot hatches, this has to be the best handling fwd car I have driven by a mile...
I'm not into exterior mod's at all, I LOVE the look of the standard MCS, especially S Spokes! and a smidgen of chrome.... (madness I know). Its a 2005 55 MCS, 175 bhp as standard (which felt a little slow tbh coming from an R56 MCS). So... I took a trip to GT Tuning, and had their 210 kit fitted, along with GTT exhaust tips (its the wife's daily so cant have any loud exhausts...). It has transformed the car, it is electric to drive, and I also have a JCW airbox en route too
Anyway....

Cheers
Chris

Yeah I too would be interested to find out, I'm not convinced it's 210, probably more around 200,(I hope the jcw airbox may help but I really need an intercooler) but it goes extremely well now, and has troubled some much more powerful cars, quite simply because with the diff it can actually put the power down without too much wheel spin!
I like lots
How does this upgrade effect fuel economy on a day to day basis? Been thinking about doing something with our MCS and same as you the other half use's it daily.
They look great in standard trim and your right about the wheels they are spot on for the car.

My god you must drive like a saint?! Our old r56 Cooper S (later turbo engine) did those sort of figures but I've never seen a 40mpg in this one...
Yeah very light foot and keeping it at 70mph on mainly the motor way. But yes it can be done, Plus my work were paying me mileage so had to drive it easy to make the most of it.

I'm confused, if those pics are of when you got it, its a JCW. So its 200/210BPH already...
Hi there, No these pics were taken yesterday, when I picked it up it was a standard MCS. The wife loves here Mini's and knows them well too, so I had to go down the JCW replica route ('authentic mini look') as opposed to GTT 210 badges, etc etc and look modified. (This is why it doesnt have a Miltek...)
I like the JCW elements anyway (particularly the slash cut exhaust, not the normal beer can base look), but prefer the standard bumpers to the widely loved 'Aero'kit.
So basically, its a standard MCS, tuned, with a hint JCW lol...
Cheers

Find a roundabout and drive at it fast and hold on!
To be honest, our mini that didn't have one gripped like crazy even powering out of corners. It'd probably be very hard to tell from driving.
