Driving lights on S2

Right, I give up.

Part hunting for a car, part researching, I have noticed that some V6 'S' models have nice big round driving lights under the bumper (as per the V8S) while most do not. Is there any rhyme or reason to this? Is it one of those TVR oddities that we're all aware of?

Someone please enlighten me.

While I'm here, there seems to be a real lack of S models in the classifieds at the moment. I'm thinking about getting back into Tiv ownership, having had a Chimaera before - but I need something a lot cheaper this time. I remember over the winter, there were a couple that needed "recomissioning". That'll be chassis welding, engine rebuild and re-trim then I bet. Still, I can weld, strip a block quite happily and there's a good trimmer on my doorstep!

Anyone know of any for sale that may not currently be on PH or fleabay?

S1 and S2 no driving lights (unless bonnet changed for a later one) S3 and S4, plus V8 driving lights (unless bonnet changed for a earlier one).

So it just depends on the car

Listed as an optional extra, "S3C bonnet £350" on the sales order for my early (1990) S3.

As a little aside, one of the guys at Surface and Design told me the mould was modified to the driving lamp version using two old paint tins to form the recesses !

I have Dec '91 S3c - and I don't have them (much to my annoyance), as I've seen cars a year earlier with them....who wouldn't have ordered them when buying a new car??!
