Langham also told officers she had taken amphetamine earlier that morning and that she had become dependent on the drug.

It's her excuse - it's not her fault, it's the drugs - drugs are bad mkaaay - they FORCE themselves upon her.It's not the fact she has zero consideration for anyone but herself - no, it's the drugs...

tholes - they stand there in expensive suits and shoes making up NONSENSE in an attempt to get their client the best possible result.IMO you should have to represent yourself in Court for petty crimes like this - put the near-illiterate mumbling a
holes into the dock and let them TRY to avoid the maximum possible sentence by not making themselves look exactly what they are - scum and detritus...Then come the media who will do ANYTHING to connect drugs (or failing that, video games) to every single possible story of woe in a DESPERATE attempt to get people to accept their "moral right wing" view that they know better than - well - everyone else...

Of course, it's the lawyer's fault. Obviously should you ever be in the dock I am sure you would welcome the opportunity to defend yourself and put your case across. Whilst it may not be applicable in this particular case sometimes mitigation is really quite important. Not everyone who is found guilty of a crime is scum and detritus and occasionally it is extrememly useful to hear the defendant's side as well. After all, that's what the system is designed to allow.
