After purchasing my first 'expensive' watch 16 months ago (Tag Heuer F1 Chrono), I have been looking for my next acquisition.

I have spent endless hours browsing TZ, gazed in windows of every jeweller I passed - but a chance visit to London last week saw me buy the next watch.

I was aware of Jura Watches for a while since browsing here and subscribing on their website. I found a U-Boat Flightdeck 43 which when I tried it on felt 'special' enough for me to buy it.
I am chuffed with it and the service from Jura was brilliant.

I don't have any pictures of the exact watch, but here it is taken from Jura's website.

Onto the next purchase...

Crikey, that's smart!

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the little linkage at the side for?

It is referred to as a 'security device' although it does nothing more than stops you from knocking the crown or chronograph button.

It isn't as big as your usual U-Boat watches. It is only 43mm which is almost identical to the Tag I already had and doesnt look daft.

I though the design was to look like an old military canteen

Originally commissioned for the italian navy, but never put into production until the grandson found the original plans/designs.

The face isnt as bold as the picture makes it. It is very subtle and dare I suggest - I could get away wearing it with business dress.
