Always fancied one , nearly bought one in Dubai a few years ago , haggled them down to £3750 but hesitated and walked away.

Had a look on Saturday , now nearly £7500 !!!

I could kick myself.

Any idea of what deals are about on a brand new one ?

You serious? IMHO a horrible watch.

I have a Submariner and a GMT Master 2 which I think are far better looking watches. Rolex list prices have been travelling north for a few years now, I believe there is another 10/15% hike in September also.

The OP is almost certainly referring to the 16622 Yachtmaster shown here...

If the 116688 Yachtmaster II is available anywhere at £7500 I'll have 100 ! wink

Ah, my favourite Rolex. Shame so far out of my price range. Would be the only watch I'd trade in my collection for.

A mate has one. I wouldn't turn my nose up at it if offered but its not my favourite.

I have one of these, wife has the mid-size.

They certainly have gone up in value, nice watch to wear also.

There is stock in Dubai Mall Rolex, price is less than UK at current exchange rate, it is £7,500 RRP in UK now?

If they're good enough for Charlie Harper they're good enough for me.

The 16622 has grown on me recently - don't know why. But what's the difference between that and a non-ceramic Submariner date (other than the asthetics, colour of bezel and face, etc)?

Comments below are for 16622 YM vs 16610 Sub

YM is heavier
Sub is 300m water resistant, YM is 100m (more gaskets on Sub?)
YM bezel is bidirectional
(essentially Sub is a diving watch, YM is not)

Don't buy a YM new whatever you do! They depreciate like a melting ice lolly! Make a nice used buy though

The face and bezel is similar to my Sea-Dweller, so what makes it a "Yachtmaster", am I missing something?.

Having just posted, I think this is the answer, didn't read down far enough;

Yes and no
They come in three sizes
YM I
ladies size = 29mm
mid-size = 35mm
mens size = 40mm
YM II
one size 44mm

Thanks for the info, going by that the YM I saw goldsmiths on Bishopsgate must have been a mid size model. I'm yet to see a 40mm in the flesh.
