Hello!
Had a chim for a while a few years back, but always fancied a griff, I'm on a tight (ish) budget after spending on a house extension, so was looking for something that wouldn't break the bank in cost and initial upgrading
After a little looking just joined the ranks of griff ownership with this one

lots of solid history, even the original purchasers TVR build specification and Purchase order, and lots of light maintenence costs suggesting a well looked after car that ought not cost me too much over the next year or two (hope i dont regret saying that).
I've driven a few griff and chims, and though a 400, it runs very well, and mechanically the smoothest and nicest tvr i've driven. Seems to be still on original paint, so for a 20 year car, is holding up very well, but could do with a front end paint, just to remove the inevitable stone chips,
As I'm based in bridgnorth, close to sportmotive, thought of going there unless anyone can suggest an alternative as i've spoken with them in the past, and they seem nice chaps to deal with
just hoping the summer lasts a little longer, first decent run will be to the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the 'ring!. in a few days.....wish me luck

thanks, I did wonder about attending this year, but I had sold a cobra replica that I was delivering to Poole Sunday, along with viewing this griff, so weekend was gone!That's a good looking Griff and the lads from Sportmotive get a big thumbs up from me.

One the face of things that does look to be a nice clean example and in a sensible colour. I would have a close look at the chassis before purchasing though just in case it is due for a refresh.

for Sportmotive from me. its just been mot'd (not that that helps much with chassis condition unless it is dire)..the chassis is very solid, in the outrigger corners, and where the inner rails can corrode look just fine, thoughI can see some of the powdercoat has chipped away and just starting to lift off in a few small spots, I would plan to either add a coat of waxoyl this winter...or as I am a bit anal, i might do a 3 inch lift, or pop the body off and do a whole chassis repaint. (you can probably tell by now that as I've built a few cobra replicas, "popping the body off"...or "pulling the motor out" are things i am happy to undertake, but happy to seek advice beforehand

thanks, cobs have been great fun for last 10 years, and a great community, but can tie a lot of cash, needed elsewhere right now.those both had LS engines 400 hp in the orange one (6l), and 540hp in the black one (7l)...but its time to move on, and I have always fancied a griff so onto a different, but new garage project!

Ive always felt the griff was a more refined cob.....but fundamentally similair (and in the case of those two, the spaceframe chassis is very griff"ish", so spannering seems very familiar already.
There is at least a chance that my wife Ros may come with me in the griff....the cob was always a trial of endurance as far as she was concerned and in 10 years i doubt she has travelled more than 30 miles in cobs.... the lack of weather gear, and even on a warm day, the huge amount of buffeting prevented her from enjoying the experience. (those of us with almost no hair don't suffer from such buffeting issues)
