Rainlegs - anyone using them?

In theory they sound like a great idea for commuting purposes, but in practice does anyone use them and find them any good?

I commute in all weathers and do wear cycle gear (i.e. I don't cycle in my work clothing), but I still prefer to stay dry and hence warm. I overheat quickly, particularly on my way home (180m altitude gain in 6 miles...), so these sound very appealing. Small enough to keep in my bag rather than lug my waterproof shorts around. They do look incredibly gimpy but I could put up with that if they work.

Any users on here who can comment on them?

No idea, but they sound different/wacky enough for that to sound probable!

I use them, or rather carry them and occasionally use them

No rain - leave at home
Minimal rain - leave at home
Torrential rain - wear proper waterproofs

Chance of moderate rain - take rainlegs with regular commute kit and put on if hammers it down

I really like them
But you do look a bit 'continental'

Cheers, that's pretty much what my plan is: if it's already lashing down I'd have full waterproofs on anyway, but where's the chance of rain then these could be kept stashed in my bag.

Do they prove waterproof enough, in your experience? I've seen some comments online elsewhere about water seeping through...

I sweat therefore it's pointless for me to bother - especially on the legs which are more "seasoned" to weather. If you're legs are wet anyway through sweat then it makes no difference whether you have them or not based upon the end result.

Only reason for long trousers for me when cycling are when it's too cold.
