I agree, that's a silly db, ruling out just about every performance car.

I was liking the sound of this as well until I got to the noise limit part. WTF is that all about? I've been to Bruntingthorpe a couple of times in my Griffith and with the sports exhaust on it there's no way it's going to get anywhere near those limits.

Why is it that some track days there have limits and some don't?

We have a Tuscan with carbon cans and it seems loud but how do you find out the db without paying up and going?

Go to a track day where they are DB testing, say you are there soon & could they just test you, most will always oblige, or buy a Db meter, or rent one off a track day co- think either or perhaps both EasyT & BAT offer this.

Oh and how low a Db limit is that!! think our local electric milkfloat would fail that!! on the other hand we recorded Tonys Lambo at 3/4 of max revs at 117Dd I think it was, so im guessing he cant go to this either

I have just booked for this one.

My standard Porsche 968 usually gets around 82dB on a static test at 4500rpm, IMO it needs to be quite noisy to fail the 97dB test -- but non-standard cans might kill it.

Suggest that you turn up on the 18th for the dB test without booking -- if you pass go on and track it as they will usually have some no-shows and you will get on if you have the dosh -- that usually works wonders! or test in June and come to the July 16th event knowing you are OK.

looking forward to it.

I went in my fairly noisey Griff (emptied rear silencer) and there were no noise checks so I didn't even bother putting my additional silencers on. Apparently they only do checks if they get a complaint. Mine was measured at 98db with the silencers on at Hullavington, and around 105 without, so if it's a Gold Track day there, I reckon that unless you're taking the piss, you'll be okay.
