Starting to show my age. Just asked for a Marathon at a local shops and was greeted with a strange look

Same here, whenever I see the tv add for Ciff I think it sounds like text shorthand for Syphilis.

No idea why they change Marathon- it had connetations that you took it and ran all day with loads of energy. Snicker sounds like snigger- a stupid bloody name.

Quite, Marathon was always the better name. Aldi do a look alike called Racer which tastes pretty good & is a much better name.
