Anyone know where is the best place to get one from or what other car uses the alternator?

Thanks

Its off Landrover (all T cars use the same one IIRC). Many threads on this if you don't get the TVR specific one you need to fit an additional diode otherwise the dash does not power down when the ign key is removed.

You'll probably need to take the pulley off your old one and swap it onto what ever "new" one you get as these seem to be NLA. if you havent got the right tools (or bodged ones) this can be a bit of a pain to crack the nut off. Plus I think the LR pulley is 8 grooves and the TVR one 10 (or thereabouts)

Get it rewound yourself for around £70. Most of the 'steallers' (won't name names) sell rewinds at a high cost!

A new one off eBay is around £120 with 12 months warranty but you will need a diode from Maplin's.

Cheers. Lee.

Thanks for the heads up on the alternator but not being electrically minded what's the diode I need, link to this would be good. Also anyone know a company who can refurbish my existing on. I think I will keep a spare.
