Skip hire or man with van?

So it seems that i've been accumulating lots and lots of assorted crap behind the garage, from garden waste, patio doors, tyres, fencing, cardboard etc etc. You name it!


Has anyone got any recommendations of a man with van type who'll be able to help clear it all?

Or if I rented a skip, anyone who could help out moving stuff (my health isn't great at the mo )

I can't believe how much skips are these days either, but I guess it's down to the dumping charges. Any recommendations of any decent skip hire places near Reading?

Skip company's all charge around the same amount. Usual suspects are:

Hadleys
Allbins
Shorts
Aldermaston skips

Although saying that's Hadleys used to be slightly more expensive than the others. I'm in Reading and could give you a hand if needed?

Don't know of any man and van types though

Man with van to dispose of rubbish... if they are cheaper than a skip then your st will probably end up in a layby or a woodland car park somewhere.

Skips & trade have to pay an environmental charge so if the bloke with a van can do it 'cheaper' than a skip then there's a reason imho.

It would probably be cheaper to hire a van for the day/ weekend and take all of the rubbish to the tip yourself

Family member with an estate car and a couple of trips to the tip ?

Failing that, slow dispersal through the black bin over a month should clear that lot.

Cheapest way to dispose of that would be to stack it all up as near to the pavement as you can then book a grab lorry. They are far cheaper than skips and will clear it in minutes.

Good look getting rid of the tyres, tips won't accept them. Suggest you try your local tyre shop.

A six yard skip will cost you £180 from Collards, an eight wheel grab lorry will cost you £250, equivalent to about six skips.

Put cardboard in pile
Then put on fencing
Then tires on top of that
Then rest of ste on top of that
Cover in petrol
Light match
Leave for 24 hours and the few remains that are left put in wheelie bin!!

Job done!!!

It is Jake:-Use your 3 ton digger(all the best homes have one) to dig large hole,fill with crap,fill hole back in and spread excess soil around the garden,job done!

Cheers for the advice. I've found a man with van type of place but yep I definitely don't them just to dump it anywhere so will check them out properly.
I've got access to a pickup, but my health hasn't been so great so doing multiple trips to the tip is probably too much.
I didn't realise those hippo bags came in bigger sizes so maybe one of those could also work for some of the heavier stuff!

they're 15" but tbh in the condition they're in having sat outside for 18months the most they'd be good for is an autosolo or similar, but I would trust them on anything faster!
