Finally got the money together to replace my bathroom. As Wickes have a big sale on at the moment I am going to take a look tonight.

Was wondering if anyone has any experience of their kit and maybe their fitting service too? I'd be happy enough to do most of it myself but if the price is right I'd rather let a professional do it and get it done to a better standard and a lot faster.

IME the bathrooms themselves are fine.... cheap obviously and quite plain but seem to be built well enough.
Can't comment on their fitting service I'm afraid.

Thanks, quite plain is definitely what I'm looking for, a decent price is obviously appealing too.

Getting them to fit isn't a must, was just wondering if anyone had used the service. I'm happy to do some myself and get trades in to finish up or find someone that'll do the lot.

We have had a few bits from Wickes bathrooms over the last 5 years and all of it has been rubbish.

The kitchen items on the other hand have been fine.

Get someone with a trade card for B&Q and save yourself a few £££

We've just bought a load of bits from Bathstore and the quality is way better than Wickes or B&Q, worked out cheaper as well.

Bathstore is on the list of places to visit, I was going to question the quality of B&Q stuff. Will take a look and try to compare as like for like as possible.

We've also just removed a barely used freestanding bath (replaced with something that suits our needs a little more) that came from Bathstore - http://www.bathstore.com/_application/search_resul... (also shown on their homepage) if you're interested. Retails at £600 and we're open to offers though collection only. Long shot but worth a try smile

Bathstore stuff is decent.

Watch out for the Wickes delivery drivers, some of them are real monkeys.

Our bathroom is far too small for a free standing bath to work unfortunately.

As was ours. It fitted (was done by previous owners) but looked out of place so we've gone for a normal shaped bath/shower combo. Suits the room much better.

I had a look around and thought they were extremely expensive.

Check www.bhl.co.uk and have a look at the branded stuff on there, I got Ideal Standard geaar which is branded, made in the UK, looks great, is well made AND half the price of Wickes.

Wasn't particularly impressed with the baths in Wickes. All felt a bit flimsy.

Will take a look at Bathstore on Saturday and also that website.

I got mine from this range... http://www.bhl.co.uk/category/Ideal_Standard_Conce...

If you want to see the stuff in the flesh, search for a Plumb Centre near you which has a showroom. Not many do. The one in Leeds had nearly every Ideal Standard suite out.

Do not buy from them though they're super-expensive. Mine was ordered from BHL and was actually delivered by the Plumb Centre I looked round in Leeds for around half the price! :-/
