Probably not the first time people have seen something like this, I have seen it several times myself but it never fails to make me smile!

Feel free to add your own anecdotal pictures and stories, if I can be bothered I will type out the one involving the brand new TT I once saw fall ill of a similar although much worse fate!

Jesus that interior is going to be wrecked.

If i saw this and it was a manual soft top I'd be inclined to try and put the thing up. I would hope someone else would to the same for me.

Sadly these days people seem to delight in others' misfortune, a point that your post has proven.

Is it me or can I see what appears to be a ginger looking head in the car. Is someone in it?

Yep, it hilarious isn't it? rolleyes

Saying that though, unless the roof is stuck why would you not put the roof up while you go shopping? Seems a bit daft.

Maybe the OP could get a photo of the owner returning, I can guess what the owner will look like....

Its been sunny in Leeds and has been all day and still is now.

Looks like it either has a red leather interior or this chap is sitting in the back smile

Agreed, OP why, exactly, is it funny?

Are you one of these sad envious fools who has to squirt your windscreen washers when there's an open soft top behind you?

I've actually pulled up an MX5 top during a summer rain storm in a car park before. That made me happy.

Gawd, calm down fellas, I've done the same to my car and laughed about it. It's not life or death.

I find schadenfreude amusing, so shoot me.

Even if it's 100% not going to rain I would put the roof up, could quite easily be some dhead's mcflurry or some bird st that makes a mess of the interior.

Am in Milton Keynes, its been lashing down on and off for about an hour!

Would have love to have helped the poor guy but its an electric roof! (2000 megane!)

In my defence there was a very large black cloud when the guy parked up, surely if you are the owner of a convertible you know to look for these things. Also as its been raining for so long I would have thought the owner would have already returned, but he has not....

I quite often leave the Elise's roof off, but then the interior doesn't really contain anything that can't be easily cleaned and/or dried. I can't imagine why you'd leave an electric roof down, unless it's broken.

Response in order of questions....

1. Honestly? Because it isn't happening to me (this time, I have fallen fowl before)

2. Nope, I like a good soft top!

Would have pulled the roof up but there really isn't a way!

Agreed. Always roof on unless its outside the local Tesco Express and I know I'll be 2 minutes.

It looks better roof up, too.

Please don't be bothered. How someone who purports to have an interest in cars can laugh smugly this is beyond my understanding. rolleyes

Not going the way you thought it would hey OP? hehe

As said though, seems odd to leave your car in what I guess is a public car park, with the top down, I am guessing if the car got nicked the insurance co would not be too pleased.
