Anyone in the area see anything around 4.15/4.30am today? I wonder what completely explainable phenomenon it was. It's very near me, but I'm very much asleep that time of day.

I love the expert at the end.

He almost keeps a lid on it, but it all just comes out at the end.

He's just bursting with need-to-know knowledge that the rest of us close-minded idiots can't/won't accept smile

I was letting off chinese lanterns at the weekend and live three miles south of Buntingford, maybe it was one of the endurance models?

I went to secondary school in Buntingford, if aliens are there looking for intelligent life they're not going to have an easy job XD Even worse if they venture towards Stevenage!

Some time ago, there was quite a large article in the Crawley Local ste about a number of youngsters who had seen strange lights over the town.

It neglected to mention Gatwick is 1/3rd mile away...........

Well, Sewell has no reason to make this up and it wasn't exactly a quiet news day.

As I have pointed out several times on here, there are physical objects in the world's air space that we do not yet understand.

Well at the risk of getting drawn into a debate again that I don't have time for tonight and tomorrow.....

95% of "UFO" sightings are of something natural or man-made, the remaining 5% are truly inexplicable. Within the 5% there are physical objects capable of tremendous acceleration and speed, making sharp right angle turns in a flash and defying the laws of physics (as we know them) by stopping silently in mid-air.

I suspect the disc seen by Mike Sewell falls into the 5%.

Since the late forties thousands of credible witnesses have reported the latter including US presidents, military and commercial pilots, ATC operators, astronauts, police officers and occasionally large populations such as in Phoenix (the Phoenix lights) and Mexico.

Where would I find the best collection of sightings (reading matter)?

Without doubt the latest, greatest and most intelligently written book is UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go on the Record, by Leslie Kean http://www.amazon.co.uk/UFOs-Generals-Pilots-Gover...

At least read some of the reviews. However, if you haven't read this book then your opinion on the subject is of no value.

Already looked it up. My view is valid to me having looked into one or two that have a mention in the review. Money saved by me. If people want to buy it, crack on.
